WHAT IS WOKE ?

WHAT IS WOKE ?  Attempting to solve a problem in society but either failing, creating another one in it's place or making the original problem worse. Usually by grossly over compensating. 

WHO ARE THE WOKE BRIGADE ? People who's hearts are in the right place and genuinely want to change society for the better. Unfortunately they often lack common sense and ignore how human beings behave in the real world.

EXAMPLES OF WOKE

THEY HATE RACISM. But screaming "racist" at anyone who voices genuine concerns about immigration and diversity hiring means people will voice these concerns in another way. This lead to the rise of the British national party in the early 2000s. Followed by the likes of Britain first and the English defence league. 

THEY HATE PHYSICALLY PUNISHING CHILDREN. In the past children often faced horrible physical punishments in school. Sometimes these were for things beyond their control such as autism or being left handed. Today school discipline is a joke and kids have learned that they can do what they like with low possibility of receiving any meaningful punishment. Violence in schools has increased dramatically.

THEY HATE UNFAIR WORK PRACTICES. In the past a boss could dismiss an employee for no reason as there were no workers rights. Today they have to jump through multiple hoops to dismiss a lazy or ineffective employee. Bosses will often load their best employees with more work (performance punishment). Work satisfaction is on the decline and quiet quitting has become common place. 

THEY HATE HARASSMENT OF WOMEN. But screaming “harassment” at men just for attempting to strike up a conversation with a woman has left many men afraid of approaching. Hardly going to help plummeting birth rates. Lack of credible advice for men has left them seeking it elsewhere. Hence the rise in popularity of vile men like Andrew Tate.

WOKE Vs NOT WOKE

The problem with discussing this subject is that it provokes another extreme reaction. Some people (read religious, right wing, conservative types) will scream "woke" at anything they don't like. Unfortunately this equally unhelpful at striking a balance. The point of this blog is to highlight the damaging effects of the woke brigade, as well as the effects of going too far in the opposite direction.
